How to find micro influencers in Pakistan for your business

By the Wasta team, Karachi · Updated · 7 min read

The short version

Micro influencers in Pakistan usually have 10,000 to 50,000 Instagram followers, and nano influencers 1,000 to 10,000. To find them near you, search Instagram location tags and local hashtags, check who your customers already follow, look at posts tagged on local food and lifestyle pages, ask your customers, or post a campaign on Wasta and let creators apply. Shortlist on audience city and comment quality, then test with 3 to 5 creators, each with their own discount code.

  • Nano: 1,000 to 10,000 followers. Micro: 10,000 to 50,000.
  • For a local business, where the audience lives matters more than its size.
  • The best leads are often already in your own followers and customers.
  • Read the comments, not just the follower count.
  • Test with 3 to 5 creators and one discount code each before committing.

What counts as a micro influencer in Pakistan?

There is no official definition, but most brands and creators in Pakistan use follower tiers like these. The reel rates are indicative ranges Wasta gives as guidance, not survey data, and every creator sets their own price.

TierInstagram followersIndicative rate for one reel
Nano1,000 to 10,000Rs 2,000 to 8,000
Micro10,000 to 50,000Rs 8,000 to 25,000
Mid tier50,000 to 250,000Rs 30,000 to 120,000
Indicative only. A story usually costs about a third of a reel and a static post about half.

Why do micro influencers suit local and small businesses?

  • Their audience is often nearby. A food creator with 15,000 followers in Karachi may be followed mostly by people who could visit your restaurant this weekend.
  • Their followers know them. Smaller creators tend to reply to comments and DMs, so a recommendation feels closer to a friend's tip than an advert.
  • You can afford several. Instead of one big name, a small budget can cover a handful of creators, which also tells you quickly who works for your business.
  • They are open to barter. Many nano creators will consider product or a meal as payment for simple content, especially when the product is genuinely good.

How do you find micro influencers near you?

  1. 1Instagram location tags and local hashtags. Search the places near you on Instagram, such as Burns Road, Do Darya or Dolmen Mall in Karachi, or Liberty Market and MM Alam Road in Lahore, and open the recent posts. Then try hashtags for your city and category, like #karachifood or #lahorefoodies. Note the accounts that post there regularly and look like real people, not pages.
  2. 2Who your customers already follow. Open the profiles of people who follow, tag or comment on your page. The creators they follow and interact with are the ones your buyers already trust. Anyone who has tagged your business without being paid is a natural first call.
  3. 3Tagged posts on local food and lifestyle pages. Large city pages that review restaurants, salons or shops often repost or tag smaller creators. Open their tagged tab and you will find a list of active local creators in your category.
  4. 4Ask your customers. At the counter, on your WhatsApp line or in a story, ask: who do you follow for food, fashion or home ideas in this city? The same names come up again and again, and that tells you a lot.
  5. 5Post a campaign on Wasta and let creators apply. Instead of searching, describe what you want and let interested creators come to you with their own rates. More on this below.

How do you find female micro influencers in Pakistan?

The same five methods work. Female creators are especially active in fashion, modest wear, beauty, skincare, home cooking, parenting and home decor, so search the hashtags and local pages for those categories. A few points of respect make a real difference:

  • Message from your official brand account, never a personal one, and keep it professional.
  • Do not ask for a personal phone number in the first message. Let the creator decide how she prefers to be contacted.
  • Put the brief in writing so nothing depends on calls or verbal promises.

How do you shortlist micro influencers? A checklist

Once you have ten to twenty names, check each one against this table before you message anyone.

How should you approach a micro influencer?

Keep the first message short and specific. Say who you are, why you picked them, what you are offering, and ask for their rate. Do not ask for free work in the first line.

Sample in English: Hi, I run [business name], a [what you sell] in [area]. We liked your recent reel about [topic], and a lot of your followers seem to be from [city]. We would like to work with you on one reel in [month], paid or with product, whichever you prefer. Could you share your rate and a few dates that suit you?

Sample in Roman Urdu: Assalam o alaikum, main [business ka naam] se baat kar raha hoon, hum [area] mein [kya bechte hain] bechte hain. Aap ki haaliya [topic] wali reel humein bohot pasand aayi, aur lagta hai aap ke kaafi followers [shehar] se hain. Hum [mahina] mein aap ke saath ek reel karna chahenge, paid ya product ke badle, jo aap ko theek lage. Kya aap apna rate aur kuch munasib tareekhein bata sakti hain?

Change "sakti" to "sakte" when writing to a male creator. Small details like this show you actually looked at their profile.

How do you run a first test with 3 to 5 creators?

  1. 1Pick one goal. Footfall, orders or messages. One goal makes the results easy to compare.
  2. 2Set a budget. Using the indicative ranges above, three nano reels might come to Rs 6,000 to 24,000, and five micro reels Rs 40,000 to 125,000.
  3. 3Give everyone the same brief and offer, but let each creator make the content in their own style.
  4. 4Give each creator a unique discount code or link, such as their name plus a number, so every sale or visit can be traced back.
  5. 5Write the terms down. Deliverables, posting date, rate and whether you can reuse the reel. On Wasta these sit on a deal card both sides accept.
  6. 6Track for two weeks. Count code uses, DMs and customers who say they saw you on a creator's reel. Work out the cost per result for each creator.
  7. 7Rebook the winners and drop the rest.
